Interviews + Collaboration with Laakkuluk, Incident Mag

A new collaborative postcard and back to back interviews with Laakkuluk Williamson Bathroy in Incident Mag, an online an publication on performance art in Brooklyn NY. Unmasking Greenland’s Uaajeerneq: Maria Hupfield Interviewing Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory Part 1 and An Interwoven Piece of Beauty: Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory Interviews Maria Hupfield, Part 2.

The postcard completes the series “From the Moon to the Belly” published in Fuse Magazine. The original seven-card limited edition digital collage postcard project and socio-cultural exchange between Maria Hupfield and Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory. A project about asserting control, overcoming stereotypes and traveling spirits. The project moves forward with new and old imagery beyond the parody of representation that exists for Indigenous people in North America. By inviting viewers to use and mail the cards, we the artists further foster exchange across all boundaries. Each copy of the print edition of FUSE 35-2 States of Postcoloniality/NORTH contained one of seven postcards.
