“The exhibition brings together a new generation of Native American women artists working across disciplines who reference the body through action, construction, and symbolic representation.” For my performance “Jiimaan Canoe” I use the canoe to recall and create connections to memory, body and movement; Doug Ingram, a Master Boat Builder from Ontario describes canoes as, “Vessels full of memories.” Production and development of this performance for an international audience is made possible through the support of the Canada Council.
Kaili Chun & Kapulani Landgraf will be joining us to speak on their work at 6:30-8:00pm on May 14th.
