Maria Hupfield presents, Performance Lab: Lethbridge
Friday, June 23 | 5 PM
Admission: Free
Maria Hupfield has invited three Lethbridge artists, Cindy Baker, Tanya Doody, and Mandy Espezel to join her in a collaboration. During the day the artists will workshop a project onsite in the gallery. They will perform together during exhibition’s opening reception at 5 PM on Friday, June 23. Characteristic of Hupfield’s live interdisciplinary performances, she aims to craft a visually rich and multi-sensory atmosphere for an active exchange of ideas across cultures, disciplines, and borders. Performance Lab is informed by collaborative approaches to sustaining trust and support based in the  Brooklyn Performance Art community where Hupfield is based. This performance series was originally developed as a three day project in Montréal at Galerie Hugues Charbonneau, 2013.
Maria Hupfield, The One Who Keeps On Giving is a production of The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Toronto in partnership with SAAG, Lethbridge; Galerie de l’UQAM, Montréal; Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery, Halifax; and Canadian Cultural Centre, Paris. It was sponsored by TD Bank Group and supported by Julia & Robert Foster. Funding assistance from the Canada Council for the Arts, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the City of Lethbridge.
